Join experts from across the country as we reflect on the first year of lung cancer screening in regional, rural and remote settings. This session will explore early experiences, insights and key learnings from implementation on the ground, alongside emerging data from the National Cancer Screening Register to better understand who is accessing the program, and where gaps remain.
Hear updates from NACCHO and Heart of Australia on efforts to ensure priority populations are being reached equitably, with a focus on culturally appropriate and accessible approaches to screening. Finally, hear from regional experts on the ground discuss strengths and challenges to implementation in their local community.
The forum will conclude with a panel Q&A, providing an opportunity for shared discussion, identifying opportunities, challenges, and the work still to be done to improve uptake and outcomes across the regions.
This series has been made possible by the Cancer Patient Support Program, an Australian Government initiative. Supported by grant funding from the Federal Government, the forums aim to address the educational needs of Australia's regional and rural cancer workforce by facilitating reciprocal learning between regional and metropolitan cancer colleagues.
This is an inclusive event that recognises the expertise of the cancer workforce in regional, rural and metropolitan areas. All workers are invited to participate in education and learning that will enable a collective effort to lift cancer outcomes in regional and rural communities.
This initiative recognises the imperative that we all must work together towards equitable cancer care. An individual’s postcode shouldn’t influence their outcomes.
