The VCCC Alliance’s regular Precision Oncology Forum has drawn together a stellar cast of experts to advise on topics going forward.

Seven individuals from across VCCC Alliance members have joined an Expert Reference Group for the forum, which is co-chaired by Dr Joep Vissers, Curation Scientist Team Leader, the University of Melbourne, and Dr Huiling Xu Senior Research Fellow, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Established in 2015, the Precision Oncology Forum was previously known as the Molecular Tumour Board.

Dr Vissers said the forum is expanding to a model with co-chairs guided by an Expert Reference Group. “This new model will allow us to increase the scope of knowledge and learning we bring to forum participants,” he said.

Dr Xu said the content for the forums content will be selected by the chairs, under the guidance of the Expert Reference Group. “The chairs and Expert Reference Group will be meeting half-yearly to discuss education priorities and prospective topics and speakers,” she said.

The forum aims to achieve three key objectives: firstly, to deliver high-quality educational content on precision oncology; secondly, to provide a platform for scientists and clinicians from VCCC Alliance member organisations to showcase their excellence in precision oncology; and thirdly, to bring the community together, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Congratulations to all the Expert Reference Group appointees:
